11/15/12: Tame Impala & Super Furry Animals

Welcome to the Fuzz Factory. Your internet home for great rock & roll.

The Fuzz Factory is a radio program filled with guitar-centric rock & roll featuring fat riffs, funky grooves and psychedelic pop twists from the last 30 years. This week was no exception. Another two hours of great music for rock fans around the globe.  That’s right…we’re baaad, we’re worldwide.

It was a big show. In addition to a few brand new songs, like the highly anticipated new Soundgarden release, I debuted a new feature on this show: Compare/Contrast. This is when I play a few songs from two artists, comparing and contrasting their styles and influences. Soon the Compare/Contrast set will become a regular feature on the Fuzz Factory. On this show, I compared and contrasted the sound of Tame Impala and Super Furry Animals. Super Furry Animals have been around for a couple of decades now. Tame Impala are a much more new band. Both bands are masters of neo-psychedelic rock & roll.

Here is your rockin’ good Fuzz Factory playlist. If you like what you see and hear, go tell somebody!

4/14/11: Super Furry Animals

Well hello there.  Yes, it’s been a little while since there has been a Fuzz Factory show to tell you about.  The last few weeks have been filled with travel and adventure.  Yes, I was in St. Louis, MO at a conference learning all about how to better teach my foundation studies students.  There was some Fuzz Factory research and development conducted over this break too.  Research and development in the form of the J. Mascis concert at the Earl (tickets courtesy of SCAD-Radio).  The opening act was Kurt Vile & the Violators.  It’s was a very good show.  Especially Kurt Vile, he was quite impressive.

By the way – this past Saturday was National Record Store Day.  Did you do your part and go out and support your local record store?  I did.  You bet.

The special feature for this show was experimentalpsychedelicalternativerockband Super Furry Animals.  They are modern rock legends.  We had a couple of requests this week. I played some Orange 9mm for a listener in Atlanta and some Queens Of The Stone Age for a listener in St. Louis.

Here is a list what you missed (or heard) on the Fuzz Factory last week.  As usual, the show kicked ass.  Remember to listen to the Fuzz Factory, every Thursday night from 8-10 PM (EST).
