6/14/17: Old School Psychedelic Rock

Psychedelic-Rock-PPcorn

“You got that rainbow feel, but the rainbow has a beard.”

This week the Fuzz Factory was filled with the expansive and sometimes strangely experimental sounds of early psychedelic rock. I tried to touch on many variations of this new and emerging sound of the 60’s and early 70’s. I discovered some brand new songs in my research for this show and dropped them in the playlist. Mixed in with a few classics (like the one I quoted above) are some really rare tracks. Hope you enjoyed it if you were listening and if you didn’t, look closely at the playlist and discover some of these artist for yourself.

Here’s the playlist:

8/13/15: Headspace Show

speaker-wall

This past week the Fuzz Factory stretched out a bit with a new special feature, the Headspace Show. All songs played were long (at least 6 minutes long). They invited the listener to be swallowed by the sound and allowed to drift away within their own headspace. It was a fun journey to the center of the mind and a special feature I will definitely revisit further on down the road.

Join me in the Fuzz Factory this week for the first of two Rock & Roll Hall of Fame shows, featuring only music from members of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Thursday nights from 8-11 PM (EST) on SCAD-Atlanta Radio (www.scadatlantaradio.org). These will be the final three hour shows of the summer.

As I mentioned the other day, I wish I were on a trip this week. A trip to Levitation – 2015 Austin Psych Fest (http://www.austinpsychfest.com). Gonna have to get there next year. As a tribute to the festival itself and the opportunity to attend in the future, I decided to dedicate the entire Fuzz Factory playlist to bands playing at the Levitation festival this weekend.

The Fuzz Factory with Brett Callero. Saving rock & roll radio, one week at a time. Check it out, Thursdays from 8-10 PM (EST) on SCAD-Atlanta Radio (http://www.scadatlantaradio.org).
