It was the regular order of business around these parts last week. Regular Fuzz all around with the Compare/Contrast feature at the end of the show. This time I decided to compare and contrast two rock bands that share a campy sexual vibe through many of their songs. They sound a little kinky and weird. I’m talking about the Eagles of Death Metal (from Palm Springs, CA) and the Make-Up, outta Washington, DC. Let’s just say the show ended with some top shelf party rock & roll.

Listen to the Fuzz Factory with Brett Callero, 8-10 PM (EST) on SCAD-Atlanta Radio (www.scadatlantaradio.org). Saving rock & roll radio – one week at a time.

6/20/13: Josh Homme

Yes. The Fuzz Factory is back! It’s summertime too, which means the Fuzz Factory is extended to three hours!

This was the first Fuzz Factory big rock show in a few weeks. I was all ready to go the week before, however I was stopped in my tracks by two tornadoes in the Atlanta area. The power went out in the entire building just at the moment the show was scheduled to begin. So instead of starting the show, I was ducking and covering in the soundproof radio studio. Soon I was informed by security that the tornadoes were not coming this direction. Regardless, the storms in the area were massive and the power was out a long while and the Fuzz Factory had to be cancelled.

The first three hour show included a nice, long feature on the musical career of Josh Homme. For those not in the know, Josh Homme is the creative mastermind behind  Queens Of The Stone Age. He was also a leader of the desert rock scene that started in Palm Springs, CA a little over 20 years ago. At that time, Homme formed his first band, Kyuss. He was only 14 years old. In addition to music from QOTSA (including a brand new song) and Kyuss, I featured lesser known Josh Homme projects and guest appearances.

Listen to the Fuzz Factory and get your special rock & roll delivery on a weekly basis. I’ve got thousands of fat riffs, funky grooves and psychedelic pop twists from the last 30 years or so.

Tell your rock & roll friends too. tell them the Fuzz Factory is saving rock & roll radio one week at a time.

Here’s that playlist.
