11/19/15: Complementary Colors

complementary colors

Complementary colors. If you attend this school, you better know what those are. Over the holidays, I was back home in Chicago and was impressed to learn that my 10, 12 & 13 year old nieces all knew what the complementary colors were. Made me happy.

So yeah, I revisited a popular theme but put a Color Theory spin on it.

Here’s the playlist. Starting with purple/yellow, followed by blue/orange and red/green.

Make sure to tune into the Fuzz Factory on SCAD-Atlanta Radio. Listen from 8-11 PM (EST) on SCAD-Atlanta Radio (www.scadatlantaradio.org). This week we travel to a very dangerous place, the 80’s. Be there or be square.

5/2/13: Sounds Of Color

Everyone loves color. Don’t even think for a second that it’s not true. We can debate degrees, differences and preference until we are out of breath and in our grave. Nothing will change this fact. Every human being has an emotional reaction to color.

Naturally, this translates to music as well. The special feature is the Sounds of Color. Colors are used in lyrics so often because of the descriptive power of color. The Fuzz Factory last week was all about color, and the songs that use color in their title. With a show like this one – I have hundreds of songs to choose from. Therefore weaving together a playlist was a task that was both easy and difficult.  The listeners helped out too.  I received a couple of colorful requests, one from SCAD-Atlanta and one from Kansas City. Nationwide Fuzz!

OK Nationwide Fuzz – if you like rock & roll, especially with a bunch of guitar. Listen to the Fuzz Factory. Get your special delivery on a weekly basis. We’ve got fat riffs, funky grooves and psychedelic pop twists from the last 30 years or so. Tell your rock & roll friends too.

Here’s that playlist – full of primaries, secondaries, tertiaries and more.

Color (or colour, if you prefer) was the special feature. Get your synesthesia here and have a night full of fantastic colors! This feature was a lot of fun and included many listener requests. I will definitely have another show like this down the road.
