4/21/16: Dead Meadow & Wolfmother

thumb_COLOURBOX1706883

It was another great rock & roll show this week in the Fuzz Factory. The compare/contrast feature was Dead Meadow and Wolfmother, two bands that definitely bring the fuzz. Dead Meadow (originally from Washington, DC) play a super psychedelic brand of fuzz. Wolf mother (from Sydney, Australia) has more of the classic riff rock brand of fuzz in their sound.

Please note, there will be no Fuzz Factory next week. The show will return 5/5/16.

Let’s get to the playlist.

A Dead Meadow Wolfmother Of Sorts

This week, the compare/contrast feature on the Fuzz Factory will be Dead Meadow and Wolfmother. Two bands that briefly collaborated at one time. Two bands that definitely bring the fuzz. Dead Meadow, originally from Washington, DC, play a super psychedelic brand of fuzz. Wolfmother, from Sydney, Australia, has more of the classic riff rock brand of fuzz in their sound.

Here’s a taste of the what the feature will sound like Thursday night:

4/14/16: Full Of Fuzz Rock

Fuzzed out guitars, is there anything better when gearing up for midterm? I think not. This week the Fuzz Factory returns to it’s core. The world of fuzz rock. Every so often, my world needs this more than anything else. Listening to it all is easy. Deciding on what to play is the hard part. I decided to mix in a few obscure oldies from the 70’s as well (Atomic Rooster, Josefus and Bang!). Together it was the loud groove you expect to come from this factory.

Here’s the playlist:

– – – – – – – – –

Hypnotiser – Arrowhead

9 (Psychic Ills Remix) – Follakzoid

Gathering Of Ancient Tribes – Goat

Sleeping For Years – Atomic Rooster

The Sound – Birth Of Joy

Kickdown – Truckfighters

No Way Man – The Atomic Bitchwax

Black Mountain Special Feature

The Fuzz Factory returns this week with a big special feature from a great band with a new album. The band is Black Mountain, they’re from Vancouver, Canada and their new album is called IV. Over half of the show will consist of the special feature. I’ll be dropping in a song from all four Black Mountain full length albums (Black Mountain In The Future, Wilderness Heart, IV) and songs from the various side projects of members of the band.

The Fuzz Factory. Thursday night from 8-10 PM (EST) on SCAD-Atlanta Radio (www.scadatlantaradio.org).

Be there. It’s going to be a great one. Meanwhile, enjoy these videos from Black Mountain (and their various side projects). Call it a video preview.
