Moving & Giving Thanks

This year, my Thanksgiving will be filled with packing boxes and making art. I’m moving in a couple of weeks. This year it’s a quiet holiday for me, therefore I decided to make sure it gets a little louder. In the Fuzz Factory of course. This week, spend your holiday evening listening to the Fuzz Factory. Songs on the playlist will speak about the concept of moving, being on the move. Also, songs about finding home and giving thanks too. I’m grateful for much, including you – my listeners. Listen to the Fuzz Factory, THURSDAY night from 8-11 PM (EST) on SCAD-Atlanta Radio (www.scadatlantaradio.org).

Moving right along…

11/13/14: Flowerhead/Black Market Flowers

Psychedelicflowers

As I mentioned before, I have discovered some very good bands by scouring the cut out bins in music stores – looking for interestingly good, unpopular music. Sometimes, at such a go away price, the cover alone was enough to make it worth the risk. This week on the Fuzz Factory, my compare/contrast feature was two bands that fall directly into this category, Flowerhead and Black Market Flowers. Both throw out a heavy brand of psychedelic rock. I also played many other artists that you may or may not have heard of. Hopefully, that’s why you tuned in. To hear some good music that’s new to you.

Listen to the Fuzz Factory on SCAD-Atlanta Radio (www.scadatlantaradio.org) every Thursday night from 8-10 PM (EST).

Here’s the stellar playlist:

Unknown Flower Power

Popular does not always equal good, unpopular rarely equals bad. With that always in mind, I have discovered some very good bands by scouring the cut out bin looking for current but unpopular music sold at go away prices. Sometimes, at such a good price, the cover alone was enough to make it worth the risk. If it sucked so bad, it became a beer coaster. Win win.

Tonight on the Fuzz Factory I compare/contrast two bands that fall into the scenario I described. Flowerhead and Black Market Flowers. You can call it – Unknown Flower Power. I heard a Flowerhead song on the radio, once, after midnight. I never heard Black Market Flowers on the radio. No one might have. Flowerhead is from Austin, TX. I don’t even know where Black Market Flowers are from, my guess is Southern California. The good news, both bands released two albums and none of them are coasters.

Here are ALL of Flowerhead and Black Market Flowers official videos. Dig it. Listen to the Fuzz Factory on SCAD-Atlanta Radio (www.scadatlantaradio.org) tonight and every Thursday night from 8-10 PM (EST).

11/6/14: It’s Still Halloween

old_red_jackolantern

The Fuzz Factory rides again!!! Yes, it was really good to be back here in the studio bringing you some great rock & roll music. It was still Halloween around here, so this week was the Fuzz Factory Halloween special. However, it was a truncated Halloween special, one week instead of the typical two.

Catch you next week in the Fuzz Factory. 8-10 PM (EST) on SCAD-Atlanta Radio (www.scadatlantaradio.org). I just want to get on with other things like putting together future playlists. SO, here it is, the playlist from the other day, the annual Halloween special.
