4/3/14: The Hives & The Vines

Hives_vs_Vines

Welcome to the Fuzz Factory, where rock & roll is a compulsive obsession. This week, I played a lot of great music and created a dark, moody playlist that fit the atmosphere of the day. However, the Compare/Contrast Feature was about two rock & roll bands that I always associate with each other simply for the fact that they both hit it very big for a very short time and their names are very similar. I’m referring to the Vines and the Hives. Their names are almost the same and people frequently confused one for the other. Both bands made aggressive garage punk and both bands are much better than their flash in the pan status would indicate. In fact, both bands are still making new music, well after the overblown superhype machine moved down the line.

That’s all for now. Mark it down – The Fuzz Factory with Brett Callero, bringing you great rock & roll every Thursday night from 8-10 PM (EST). This latest playlist is more evidence of this. Check it out.
