9/29/11: Jeff Tweedy

It was a big week for concerts in my life.  One on Monday and another on Wednesday.  Wednesday night was the Wilco concert.  This was the first time I’ve seen them in concert and it was a long time coming.  I’ve had many opportunities to see them over the years and never did for one reason for another.  Based in Chicago, Wilco are truly one of the best bands going these days.  Their music is complex and their lyrics are strong as well.  Jeff Tweedy, the leader of Wilco was also a driving force in the extremely influential band Uncle Tupelo.

In the first hour, I played some spacey grooves and psychedelic twists both new and old.  The second hour was 60 minutes of music synchronicity because this feature was playing on the Fuzz Factory at the same time their second show in Atlanta was happening.  I played at least one song from each of their eight studio releases, including two tracks from the just released disc, The Whole Love.  The playlist is below, check it out and see what these artists have offer.

On a side note.  The recording process is not a perfect one.  Unfortunately this show was not recorded.  We should have everything worked out in time for next Thursday night.
